Italtel 41-01/T Answering Machine

The Italtel ELA 41-01/T in all its woodgraininess. It's a big old heavy answering machine from the 80s, it has two tape decks and Automatic Level Control. I only added the an input straight where the tape head would go and changed a capacitor in the ALC circuit to get faster response times. The output is taken from the headphone out directly into my MOTU ultralite. It also has a built in speaker, which I have captured with a Marantz Mpm1000 Condenser Microphone, placed at 40ish cm distance from the speaker cone, and at an angle, shielded with a pillow to try to annoy my neighbors less and to tame room reflections
