Description

Bogner Alchemist, in collaboration with Line 6. I was always fascinated about Bogner amps because I've had a few people praise them as their holy grail. While I am a huge fan of the smooth and liquid-like voicings that are synonymous with said brand, it's admittedly not my go-to. This is an outlier from the Bogner's reputation as a boutique amp company, being mass-produced and in a much lower price point than the Big Boys during its time. Make no mistake, though. It does the sounds that you'd associate with a Bogner really well. ・Gold Channel is for Fender-style cleans to Plexi-esque crunch. 　。Boost switch adds mid range. 　。Bright switch adds top end. 　。Deep switch changes the voicing of the channel. The gain is also backed off a bit in this more. ・Mercury Channel picks up from the Gold Channel's crunch mode all the way into high gain territory. 　。Boost switch adds mid range. 　。Punch switch pushes this channel into high gain. 　。Bright switch adds overall presence. 　。Mid Shift switch broadens the EQ range and changes the voicing of the channel. ・Preamp and poweramp sections are also provided separately. [LEGEND] ・FULL - Preamp + poweramp ・PRE - Preamp section ・PWR - Poweramp section ・GLD - Gold channel ・MCRY - Mercury channel ・CLN - Clean mode ・CR - Crunch mode ・BST - Boost ・BR - Bright ・D - Deep ・P - Punch ・MS - Mid Shift [NOTES] ・All the models are captured with 8x oversampling and 64 iterations for the highest quality possible. ・All controls are flat so you can hear the amp as it is with neutral settings. Will have to unpublish this for a bit and re-do the captures with proper input staging. EDIT: Took 32 training tests and the Mercury channel models just don't seem to take pedals well... EDIT2 (07/15/2026): The entire amp has been recaptured. Caught a few minor errors from the Gold channel and a crucial one from the Mercury channel. ・Gold Channel: 　。Missing resistor that is connected to the Deep and Bright switches. 　。Capacitor value for the Cc of the 2nd tube stage was 100uF. The correct value is 10uF. 　。47k resistor was not wired to ground from the 3rd tube stage for Crunch mode. ・Mercury Channel: 　。3rd tube stage has a 1uF cap wired to its Cc. It was explicitly stated in the schematic that it should not be installed but somehow I overlooked this. That explains why the Mercury channel captures sound like they don't have headroom at all when pushed... This is now fixed.
