Description

Update V2 Available: I went back and fine-tuned the phase alignment for the 3-mic setup to eliminate a bit of comb filtering in the blend. The new V2 files are attached—enjoy the improved clarity and phase coherence! For this project, I stuck to my usual ultra-rigorous workflow (calibrated direct Dry/Wet process, Radial J48 DI, Midas console), but with the goal of capturing that true "Amp In The Room" feel — the physical sensation and room interaction you get standing right in front of the 4x12. 🎙️ Miking Setup: Dual SM57s (Top Right): Placed in a classic "Friedman" style right up against the grille to keep that sharp bite, precision, and surgical attack. Exact miking setup from my first pack. Universal Audio SD-1 (Bottom Right): Set back and paired with the RB-77DX Satin ribbon emulation. Its job? Injecting that physical "woofy" warmth and cab resonance without muddying up the low end or losing palm-mute tightness. Phase Alignment: Realigned at the sample level. 🎛️ Gain Staging & Calibration The DI signal was precisely calibrated to preserve the natural touch-sensitivity and dynamic response of the amplifier: Option A (Recommended - Native Gain): Leave Input Calibration OFF and keep the Input knob at 0 dB. For Humbuckers & High-Output Pickups: Aim for a DI signal around −30 LUFS during energetic playing, with transient peaks near −10 dBFS. Option B (If using Calibrated Input): If you prefer keeping the Input Calibration toggle ON in NAM, set the input calibration value to -10 dB for my packs. 📦 Pack Contents (3 RAW Profiles): Maintained original naming format for direct comparison. 💡 Note: These profiles are captured RAW. If you want to replicate the boosted overdrive tones from my first pack, my dedicated Keeley Noble Screamer NAM pack features the exact "TS" and "OD" presets I used in front of the head. 🚀 Before the full release... I'd love your feedback (on headphones, studio monitors, or in a full mix) before I move on to capturing the full "3D" pack! Let me know what you think of the added dimension and low-end response!

allow me a suggestion: do DI recording of the speaker output into a loadbox and then line out into your audio interface. Capturing the amp with no mic involved is very neat. Then do a IR capture of your cab setup. When capturing the amp alone, you end up with a more accurate representation of the amp sound instead of capturing the amp through a amp + cab setup.
