Description

Marshall 9100 Dual MonoBloc Power Amplifier (5881) Calibrated A2 Power-Amp Capture Pack This pack captures one monoblock of a Marshall 9100, a 2 × 50-watt rack valve power amplifier. It is not a complete amp head. There is no guitar preamp, cabinet, microphone or room sound included. Think of it as the missing power stage in a modular rack rig. I’m releasing it ahead of a planned series of dedicated guitar preamp captures. How to use it: The correct chain is: Guitar → pedals → preamp-only model → gain trim → Marshall 9100 → cabinet IR DO NOT STICK THIS AFTER A COMPLETE AMP-HEAD OR FULL-RIG CAPTURE. Those models normally contain their own power amplifier, so stacking another one afterwards will usually sound overloaded and mushy. Gateway setup 1 - Load a PREAMP-ONLY model into the first Gateway instance. Set its Input and Output to Calibrated. (the gear icon in the top corner of the plugin) 2 - Select A2-Full. (its a little slider to the right of the NAM loader box click it and set it to 1) 3 - Add a clean gain plugin after the preamp, starting at −6 dB. 4 - Load the 9100 into a second Gateway instance. 5 - this time, set Input to calibrated and Output to NORMALISED and turn Lite off. 6 - Add a cabinet IR after the 9100. If the power stage sounds too warm, compressed or distorted, reduce the interstage gain to −9 or −12 dB. If it sounds too clean, move it towards 0 dB. The 9100 requires a cabinet IR. Without one, it will sound harsh and unfinished. Included settings: Both physical Voice settings were captured at three useful Presence positions: Voice A: P3, P5 and P7 Voice B: P3, P5 and P7 All captures: G10 Naming: VA/VB: Voice A or Voice B P3/P5/P7: Presence position G10: Gain fully clockwise Lower Gain settings were deliberately omitted. The 9100 Gain control primarily adjusts the incoming preamp level, which can be reproduced more conveniently with the gain plugin before the model. Capture details: Captured using an RME Fireface UFX III directly into Channel B of the Marshall. The 16Ω speaker output fed a matched Two Notes Torpedo Reload reactive load, with its balanced Loadbox Out returned to the RME. The Reload’s REPLAY circuit was bypassed because the 9100 accepts line-level preamp signals directly. Send calibration: +7.3 dBu Return calibration: +20.1 dBu

Liked a lot your dedication about this release, it's something very unusual and -I think- should be mandatory in order to give this community a high jump in general growing & quality terms. Endless thanks!
