Description

The MFB Nanozwerg is a compact monophonic analogue synthesizer that packs serious versatility into a tiny footprint. It features a true analogue VCO with selectable triangle, sawtooth, square, and pulse waveforms, a sub-oscillator or noise generator for added depth, a multimode 12 dB/oct analogue filter (lowpass, highpass, bandpass, notch), and full modulation capabilities with an LFO (including “one-shot” mode), ADSR envelope, and CV/Gate or MIDI control. Despite its modest size, the Nanozwerg handles basses, leads, sequences, or noise/FX sounds, and thanks to its VCF and VCA routing plus audio input, it can even be used as an external filter box or effects processor when processing other sources. For this capture I leaned into the gritty analogue character of the Nanozwerg. The signal goes full power through the open VCF and VCA, allowing the synth’s natural rawness and harmonic complexity to shine. I love how the preamp adds grain and attitude, exactly the kind of analogue spirit I adore and collect. These captures were made using a Matribox II as the DI interface. They join my personal archive and are offered strictly for non-commercial use.
