Outboard Capture

Description

A direct preamp capture of the micro-juggernaut Peavey 6505 Piranha. Taken directly from the Effects Loop Send to isolate the pure 12AX7 tube preamp stage, bypassing the solid-state power section. All controls (Gain, EQ, Volume) were dialed straight up to noon to capture the baseline "sweet spot" voicing of this hybrid head. It delivers that signature aggressive 6505 bite, tight low-end tracking, and rich high-gain harmonic saturation, but with a highly balanced and articulate frequency response. Note: This is a Direct/Preamp capture. Pair it with a high-quality 4x12 oversized cab IR (like a Celestion V30 or a 5150 matching enclosure) in your DAW or modeler to unleash the full high-gain wall of sound.
