Description

MLC Subzero 50 – NAM Capture A crushing modern high-gain capture of the MLC Subzero 50, built for tight, aggressive metal rhythm tones. The Subzero has a fast attack, controlled low end, thick midrange and plenty of saturation without turning soft or muddy—ideal for modern death metal, groove metal, thrash and extreme metal. This capture is dialed to emphasize chunk, pick attack and low-end punch, making it especially effective with down-tuned and extended-range guitars. Palm mutes stay tight and percussive while chords retain definition under heavy gain. Capture Process The amp was carefully gain-staged and captured using a dedicated reamp/capture signal chain, with levels optimized before training to preserve the response and dynamics of the original amplifier. Multiple test passes were compared to the source amp to make sure the finished NAM model retained the attack, saturation, low-frequency response and overall feel of the original tone. This is an amp/head-only NAM capture, so no speaker or microphone coloration is baked into the model. Pair it with your favorite cabinet IR, or one of the Tone Forge mix-ready IRs, to build the complete rig.
