Description

The SMB Effects Hard Rock pedal was built in the late 1990s or early 2000s by Sergey Bogucharov, a Russian builder who passed away in 2013. Because these units are no longer in production, they are relatively rare. This NAM profile was captured with the toggle switch set to the up position, which activates the high-gain distortion mode. The pedal produces a thick sound with significant sustain, suitable for heavy rhythm parts and lead playing. The tone is characterized by a strong low-midrange that adds weight without becoming muddy. The high frequencies are sharp and biting but stay clear rather than becoming harsh. This profile works well for styles like heavy alternative, grunge, or hard rock.
