# NÁSTRÖND — Five Voices of Destruction
Original High-Gain Amplifier Collection | RavenForge × SpectralForge Chimera
Náströnd is an original five-channel amplifier design developed for SpectralForge Chimera by RavenForge.
Built around five distinct approaches to distortion, saturation, dynamic response, and tonal character, Náströnd explores everything from immediate, aggressive attack to massive low-frequency weight and dense, heavily saturated textures.
Rather than recreating a particular commercial amplifier, this collection captures the character of our own amplifier DSP architecture and makes it available in the Neural Amp Modeler ecosystem.
## THE FIVE CHANNELS
FENRIR — The Relentless Hunter
Fast, aggressive, and immediate. Fenrir emphasizes early pick attack, sharp distortion response, and a leaner low-frequency character.
Designed for articulate rhythm playing, fast alternate picking, tremolo-picked passages, and tightly controlled high-gain riffs.
SURTR — The Burning Giant
Dense, forceful, and compressed. Surtr features a more distributed compression character, delivering sustained distortion with a controlled, cohesive response.
A strong starting point for heavy rhythm guitars, thick power chords, and sustained high-gain passages.
NIDHOGGR — The Serpent Beneath
Raw, uneven, and characterful. Nidhoggr explores an intentionally less uniform distortion response, producing a more irregular and aggressive drive texture.
Suited to players seeking a rougher, more organic-feeling distortion character rather than perfectly even saturation.
FIMBULVETR — The Endless Winter
Broad, full-bodied, and expansive. Fimbulvetr emphasizes tonal body and bloom, offering a different response from the more attack-focused channels.
An excellent starting point for sustained chords, slower heavy riffs, atmospheric metal passages, and arrangements that benefit from a fuller distortion character.
RAGNAROK — The Final Collapse
Deep, saturated, and imposing. Ragnarok emphasizes late-stage saturation and a powerful low-frequency impact.
Built for dense high-gain textures, massive sustained notes, and crushing rhythm sounds.
## MODELING AND CAPTURE
All five models were trained from the original Náströnd amplifier DSP at their respective default channel settings.
The collection uses the NAM A2-Full architecture, with compatibility verified against the TONE3000 player used during release qualification.
Each capture represents the amplifier head only. No speaker cabinet, microphone, or room response is included in the NAM model.
The accompanying TONE3000 presets provide channel-specific six-band POST EQ correction and output calibration.
The models were evaluated using independent synthetic validation and test signals, and all five passed the project's A2 release qualification profile.
These are neural approximations of the original amplifier DSP, not bit-exact replacements. Certain nonlinear dynamics and signal-history behavior may differ from the native Chimera engine.

## RECOMMENDED USE
Load the desired NAM model into a compatible player, then connect your preferred cabinet impulse response or cabinet simulation after the amplifier model.
For the intended TONE3000 release voicing, use the matching channel preset with its six-band POST EQ settings.
Experiment with input gain, cabinet selection, and downstream EQ to adapt each channel to your guitar, pickups, tuning, and playing style.
For extended-range guitars and low tunings, start with an appropriate cabinet IR and adjust low-frequency buildup to preserve note definition.
## ABOUT THE PROJECT
Náströnd is part of SpectralForge Chimera, an original amplifier and audio-processing project developed by RavenForge.
The NAM collection provides a portable way to explore five of Náströnd's amplifier voices outside the native Chimera signal chain.
Five channels. Five distinct distortion characters. One original amplifier architecture.
