Description

My SYN20IR with my Synergy TDLX module loaded into it. Even though the power section uses 2 EL84s its a pretty versatile power section due to its structure switch and reactance knob. It actually sounds surprisingly close to a Deluxe with this module in structure A. You get more of a standard mid 60s Fender tone in Channel 1 (which is voiced like a standard Fender blackface preamp) and a slightly hotrodded vibe in channel 2 (its voiced with more gain and mids vs channel 1). If the mids are scooped out and the tight switch is engaged (which is misnamed as engaging it increases bass, gain, and flubbiness) it will take on more of Twin vibe in channel 1 (albeit much less headroom - the Syn20IR sounds big for a 20w amp but it just not going to compete with an 85w Twin Reverb in headroom). Pushed mids and tight (again, its misnamed and does the opposite) engaged in channel 2 will make it take on more of a tweed character, though it won't have that tweed sag.
