Description

Wampler Tumnus Mini – Gain Progression Pack (4 Captures) This Neural Amp Modeler (NAM) profile pack captures the iconic, mid-forward Germanium DNA of the Wampler Tumnus Mini across four distinct gain stages. To ensure maximum usability and consistent tonal pairing, the Volume and Treble controls were locked at 12 o'clock (Noon) for all captures. By isolating the Gain control, this pack functions exactly like a real-world pedal sweep, allowing you to find the perfect gain texture for your specific amplifier platform. Whether you run a crystal-clean pedal platform or a roaring, edge-of-breakup tube amp, this pack provides the perfect gain-staging toolkit. Included Profiles & Application Guide: • 01. Gain at 9 O'Clock (The Clean/Transparent Boost) • Best for: Distorted or edge-of-breakup amplifiers. • Character: Adds the classic lower-mid Klon sweetness and subtle harmonic richness. It tightens up flubby low-end on heavy rhythm channels and pushes your guitar perfectly into the mixing sweet spot. • 02. Gain at 12 O'Clock (The Baseline "Noon" Sweet Spot) • Best for: Slightly driving amplifiers or blues-style crunch. • Character: The definitive Klon "dirty boost." Highly touch-responsive; plays beautifully with your guitar's volume knob. It provides an excellent, chewy texture for Texas blues leads or acts as a pre-gain tightener for high-gain rhythm tracking. • 03. Gain at 3 O'Clock (The Standalone Overdrive) • Best for: Clean or clean-ish amplifier channels. • Character: The soft-clipping Germanium diodes are fully engaged here. Delivers a compressed, rich, and singing mid-gain crunch with excellent string definition. • 04. Gain at Max (The Saturated Lead / Creamy Crunch) • Best for: Pristine, high-headroom clean amplifiers (e.g., Fender style platforms). Capture & Calibration Notes: The Calibrations for Send and Return are baked into the metadata. For anyone that may need to enter the calibrations manually, they are Send +17 & Return +5 for gain captures at 12 O'clock, 9 O'clock, and Max. For the Gain at 3 O'clock capture they are Send +13 & Return +5 Gain @ 3 ESR = .0130 Gain @ 12 ESR = .0132 Gain @ 9 ESR = .0098 Gain @ Max ESR = .0108 I think it pairs well with a 5153 Green Channel. This is one pedal that requires using the amp settings in conjunction with the pedal's settings to find the sweet spots. It may take a little carving to jive with whatever you pair it with, but it's got some mojo. Rock on! \m/
