Description

Akai S2000 Sampler Yes the beige vanilla digital sampling workhorse from the mid 90's Turned on, loaded its brain from a floppy Disk and fired up for an outing! I've sampled the sweep wav into the sampler and then recorded it back out to a daw and re aligned it, Not sure how well thats worked but was worth a shot. So, I had a bash at this one a while back, didn't get very good ESR score, and didn't get an interesting tone out of it to be honest. So I've tried making the sound even more gritty, have a listen see what you think... First off I sampled the test wav, the S2000 can sample at 44.1 Khz and 22Khz so where the grit in that? luckily there's a way to lower the Audio bandwidth should you find you are running out of RAM. Lurking with in the sample edit menu, I remember having to do this to try to fit everything into the samplers memory many moons ago! so I tried resampling at 1500 (interesting) and 500...(Nasty !!) But theres more... Way back when, samplers were the studios main beast, playing a sample back at a lower pitch always sounded a bit more lofi and dirty. So, one trick was to sample your source material at a higher pitch and the slow it down on playback from the sampler. I've pitched the sweep wav up and sampled it into the S2000 and then played it back an octave lower. Not quite as dirty as i thought it might be but its got a sound about it see what you think.

My man just my two cents but those esr are too high .. if you read the logs it clearly states at the end something went wrong. Perhaps the signal is clipping without you noticing , forget to turn off reverb , noise gates ,compressors etc... .thanks anyways keep up the good work
