ALLOMORPH: STANDARD JAZZ BASS EDITION
Transform your stock Fender Jazz Bass into 21 legendary active, vintage, modern, and acoustic pickup configurations.
OVERVIEW
Allomorph is the first collection of pickup and control-harness digital twins engineered for Neural Amp Modeler (NAM) and the Darkglass Anagram pedalboard.
Rather than modeling an amplifier or speaker cabinet, these models capture the fundamental electro-acoustic physics of:
• Pickup coil inductances, eddy currents, and DC resistance
• Magnetic aperture geometry and spatial string comb-filtering
• Era-accurate potentiometer loading and tone capacitor values
• Instrument cable capacitance drag (750 pF)
• Pure capacitive ToneStyler shunts eliminating wiper mud
• Active onboard discrete preamps and EQ buffers
• Non-linear magnetic core saturation and dynamic string compliance
This edition is specifically calibrated for a 34" Standard Jazz Bass with stock passive single-coil pickups. Through exact differential deconvolution, Allomorph neutralizes your stock pickups' loaded electrical resonance and spatial aperture, reconstructing the authentic acoustic and electrical twin of each target instrument in real time.
RECOMMENDED SIGNAL CHAIN
Place Allomorph as the very first block in your signal path:
[Fender Jazz Bass]
-> [Block 1: Allomorph NAM Preamp] (Input / Pickup Front-End)
-> [Block 2: Amp / Drive / Preamp] (Darkglass B7K, SVT, B-15, etc.)
-> [Block 3: Speaker Cabinet IR] (8x10, 4x10, 1x15, etc.)
-> [FOH / Audio Interface / DAW]
Why Block 1? Drive and preamp circuits react directly to pickup resonant peaks. Placing Allomorph first ensures downstream pedals distort authentic vintage or active resonant envelopes rather than an unshaped DI.
QUICK INSTRUMENT SETUP
For each voicing, set your bass's physical pickup controls to the recommended bracketed setting [Parallel], [Neck], or [Bridge]:
• [Parallel]: Neck Volume 100% | Bridge Volume 100% (Both Pickups Wide Open)
• [Neck]: Neck Volume 100% | Bridge Volume 0% (Solo Neck Pickup)
• [Bridge]: Neck Volume 0% | Bridge Volume 100% (Solo Bridge Pickup)
• Master Tone Knob: 100% (Wide Open across all models)
Plug straight in. All impedance matching, aperture repositioning, pot loading, and discrete preamp EQs are handled automatically by the NAM models.

08. Vintage '62 Split-P (22nF ToneStyler Punch) [Neck]
Vintage '62 split-coil with a modern Fender-spec 22nF ToneStyler pure capacitive shunt. Concentrates energy into an undamped, punchy 440 Hz low-mid peak (+1.5 dB, -3 dB @ 750 Hz), eliminating fret rattle while retaining forward mix punch.
09. Vintage '62 Split-P Motown Thump (47nF ToneStyler Flatwound) [Neck]
Legendary Jamerson/Pino flatwound tone: vintage Alnico split-coil with 47nF ToneStyler pure capacitive shunt and flatwound string damping. Resonant peak at 450 Hz with steep rolloff above 800 Hz for pillowy sub-bass mass and zero clatter.
10. Vintage '50s Split-P Deep Dub (100nF ToneStyler Fullerton Spec) [Neck]
Original 1951–1959 Fullerton factory 0.1µF (100nF) paper-in-oil spec with zero wiper damping. Massive sub-bass shelf rolloff (-3 dB @ 240 Hz) for subterranean dub and reggae thump that shakes the room without mud.
P/J & Music Man Family
11. Modern Active P/J Bass [Parallel]
Compound 3-coil array: ceramic split-neck and single-bridge with active 2-band buffer (1M in, 100 ohm out). +4 dB bass boost at 40 Hz, +4 dB treble at 4 kHz, and cable isolation (7.6 kHz resonance). Aggressive slap snap with thunderous low-end weight.
12. Vintage '80s Passive P/J Bass [Parallel]
