Description

IRs made from the cabinet and speaker of a mini cab I built to match my Bogner Mini Ecstasy head. The cab is 14"w x 12.75"h x 10.75"d with internal volume of 0.750cu ft. The speaker is an 8" Tone Tubby TT Humboldt 4ohm speaker. Small but mighty! Five different close mics were used to capture the speaker; C414, MD421, SM57, R121, and i5 mic'd in the following positions: -Cap=center of the cap -Cap Edge=edge of the cap where it meets the cone -Cone=midpoint of the cone halfway between cap and cone edge -Cone Edge=edge of the cone right next to the baffle One distant mic was also used; C414, mic'd at the center of the cabinet at distances of 12" and 24". Mics were powered by a Vintech 473 mic pre with a bit of low and high shelf EQ, passed through HCL Varis Tube Vari-Mu compressor for color, and into RME Fireface converters. Captured using 10 second sine wave sweep @24bit/48kHz May 2026 Nathaniel@DahmanMusic.com www.DahmanMusic.com
