Description

Here is an attempt at the solo tones of the lovely piece "5 A.M." from David Gilmour, the opening piece of "Rattle That Lock". The studio version likely used a P90 Les paul Neck pickup, the Pompei version certainly did and the Rome version was played on the Black Strat. Hence, this is the way the captures are EQ'ed. The Pompei version is extremely compressed and It is an attempt here to see whether NAM can capture that. The chain is: 1176 compressor -> Compulator -> Tube Driver (light) -> HiTone DG50 -> Custom Gilmour IR -> EQ. Hence please note: - Compressor is baked in - Studio version is EQ'ed for a P90 neck pickup (fully open) - Pompei is also EQ'ed for P90 Les Paul neck pickup (fully open) - Rome is eq'ed for Black Strat neck pickup (fully open) - He plays this with his fingers, mostly the index finger. No pick involved. These are DRY tones. You need to add Delay and reverb to taste. Happy Gilmouring!
