Description

MESA/Boogie Road King Series I and II. There are some substantial differences between the two so they're bundled together in the same tone pack. For the longest time I wasn't entirely a big fan of the Dual Rectifier sound because I thought it was too flubby on its own, and I wasn't also exactly wowed either when it's tightened up... at least in digital modeling. Turns out it's just _really_ difficult to simulate by traditional means and those who claimed so were right. The closest that got to this was Nembrini's Cali Dual amp sim, but that never ended up into my rotation. That got me to try to redraw the Road King in LiveSPICE because I was sure that if SPICE-based simulations could make fuzz circuits sound Actually Good digitally, then I might actually like how this one sounds and feels. And unsurprisingly, I did. Putting a tight boost in front seems to be mandatory for these types of amps but oh my _god_ do they sound fat and juicy. Channels 1 and 2 are also fantastic, sounds of Andy Timmons's Lonestar to be had there. ・Channel 1 & 2 - clean to crunch sounds. 。Both channels are basically clones of each other in the Clean and Fat modes. 。Channel 1's highest gain setting is Tweed, which is their take on Fender-like edge of breakup sounds with the glassy high end. 。Channel 2's highest gain setting is Brit, which is more throaty and rich on low mids. 。These channels are more compressed and have overall gain in the Series II version. ・Channel 3 & 4 - low to high gain sounds. 。Both channels are similar, just that Channel 4 has a tad bit more gain due to more emphasis on the low mids and treble. 。Raw, Vintage, and Modern modes. Raw is self-explanatory, Vintage has a saggier feel because of the added low mids in the preamp tube stages, and Modern has a bit more top end overall. 。Channel 3 is much darker in the Series II due to different values for the Presence control. Channel 4 remains unchanged, though it was still captured for the sake of completeness despite it being redundant to do so. ・All 5 power amp tube configurations are included: 2x 6L6, 2x EL34, 2x6L6 + 2x EL34, 4x6L6, and 2xEL34 + 4x6L6. ・Preamp and poweramp sections are also provided separately. [LEGEND] ・FULL - Preamp + poweramp ・PRE - Preamp section ・PWR[x] - Poweramp section [Power tubes configuration] ・CH1&2[CLN/FAT] - Channel 1 & 2 [Clean/Fat] ・CH1[TWD] - Channel 1 [Tweed] ・CH2[BRIT] - Channel 2 [Brit] ・CH3&4[RAW/VNTG/MDRN] - Channel 3 & 4 [Raw/Vintage/Modern] [NOTES] ・All the models are captured with 8x oversampling and 64 iterations for the highest quality possible. ・All the controls are flat so you can hear the amp as it is with neutral settings. I may add additional captures with "ideal" settings, but that's not a priority for now.. ・Should you wish to push more gain into the captures, use a separate gain utility/plugin and a clipper/waveshaper/limiter with a ceiling of -0.1dB or less before your NAM loader to prevent nuking the models if the input signal gets too hot. === LiveSPICE: https://livespice.org/ Original LiveSPICE .schx schematic file: https://github.com/MARKTHERENCE/LiveSPICE-MK-Circuits

Made it public hours ago too soon, oops. All Channel 3 models have been recaptured because the previous ones had way less gain.
