Suhr PT15 I.R.

Channel 2 on the PT15 is a cascaded stage master volume marshall-style preamp. I dialed it in for a crunchy JMP 2203 type sound which is less scooped and bright to my ear than a JCM 800 2203 type sound. Instead of engaging the bright switch and keeping the power section relatively clean, I kept the bright switch off and worked the power amp presence and master along with the preamp EQ and master to produce a similar "high mid" presence but without too much obvious phase inverter saturation "swirl" to keep the capture somewhat tight sounding. The power section is very much a part of this tone.
