Little Bear T7 Tube Phono and Line Preamp 1970s–2020s – Compact tube-based preamp supporting MM phono cartridges with RIAA equalization and a line input. Two captures were produced: one through the line input for a clean, gently bloomed tone, and one through the phono input to drive the circuit to its extremes, showcasing the T7’s controlled and unhinged sonic possibilities. Captured through the Matribox II DI using a matched pair of RTC 5654 NOS NIB valves from 1972, emphasizing clarity, upper mids, and tube bloom. Technics SU 700 Solid State Integrated Amplifier Late 1970s – Classic Japanese hi-fi integrated amplifier featuring bass, treble, and loudness controls that shape the signal naturally. Two captures were produced: one with the loudness function active for expanded dynamics and enhanced clarity, and another emphasizing scooped mids with boosted bass and treble. Captured via Matribox II DI, highlighting the clean, reliable, and musical solid-state tone of vintage Technics designs. Douk Audio / Nobsound T8 Tube Equalizer and Preamp 1980s – Compact tube preamp and five-band equalizer with dual tube architecture. Tube rolling with Voskhod 6N3P E NOS valves brings mid density, harmonic warmth, and gentle peak shaping. EQ set with plus 2 boost on all bands and volume at maximum for clear output. Captured via Matribox II DI, preserving the characteristic warmth and musical shaping of the T8. Behringer MIC500 USB Tube Preamplifier 2000s–2010s – Compact USB-capable tube preamp/audio interface with XLR and line inputs and hybrid gain structure. NOS Brimar 12AU7 ECC82 WA tube gives smooth response and extended dynamics. Captured on neutral setting for flexible use across synths, instruments, and vocals, providing warm, open, and harmonically rich tone. Little Bear B4-X 2020s – Portable hybrid headphone amplifier with Raytheon JAN 5784WB tubes and Oracle 2 op-amps. Works with headphones or line-level sources, adding warm, expressive tube coloration. Captured at maximum output into a tube preamp with NOS Brimar 12AU7 ECC82 WA tube, delivering rich, open, and harmonically detailed tone suitable for all instruments.
