Two preamp captures of the Warm Music GT208 (Ragna-Rock 208), a Brazilian hybrid combo, pushed by an Ibanez TS7 Tube Screamer. They go from a dynamic crunch to a saturated lead tone. The pedal is part of each capture, so play them straight with no overdrive in front. Preamp-only captures: recorded straight from the preamp output, before the power amp and speaker. No cabinet is included, so pair them with a cab IR of your choice. The GT208 has a hybrid preamp: a solid-state front end, diode-clipping distortion stage and tone stack, followed by a single tube stage at the output that adds warmth and rounds off the top end. Both captures use the same amp EQ: Bass 4 | Middle 9 | Treble 6 | Presence 6 | Reverb off. The TS7 is in TS9 mode (not Hot). 1. Crunch: TS7 Drive 4, Tone 6, Level 4 into the clean channel. A warm, mid-focused crunch. The Tube Screamer’s mid hump stacks on the amp’s mid-forward clean, giving thick, vocal notes with moderate, articulate breakup. Chords stay defined, and it responds to picking dynamics. Great for blues, classic rock and rhythm work. 2. Lead Drive: TS7 Drive 8, Tone 6, Level 6 into the distortion channel with Saturation at 3. A thick, compressed, mid-heavy drive with long sustain. Two clipping stages stack here, the TS7 and the amp’s distortion channel, for a focused, singing lead voice. Bass at 4 keeps palm mutes tight, and Treble and Presence at 6 keep notes defined without fizz. Made for solos, hard rock and saturated rhythms. A noise gate before the model helps on quiet passages.
