Description

I made IRs of my Celestion V-Type in 0.25inch (~0.6cm) intervals from the center to 4" (~10cm) away from the cap. A decent starting point would be "G12V70 4x12 SM57 2.50in 0.0in.wav" The 2.50" (~6.4cm) to 3.00" (~7.6cm) area is where I tend to like the V-Type. Yeah, I would say 2.5-2.75 OA works best for me when mic-ing this speaker. My DSL40CR has this installed. I'm looking forward to trying these with a head-only capture that I'm about to collect from the DSL. So it will be interesting to compare 1) the amp sound/feel in real life to 2) a mic-ed full-rig capture from the V-Type speaker, and 3) a head-only capture played through your IR. Fun times.
