Roland JC-120 Jazz Chorus Combo

A huge thanks to a local concert backline rental company who kindly lent us this legendary Roland JC-120 combo, supporting our community effort on the ToneGrid plugin project! 🤝 This collection consists of Studio Dual-Mic Combo Captures taken directly from the JC-120's original speakers in a dedicated studio setup. To capture the true acoustic response of the cabinet, we used a phase-aligned dual-microphone blend: Guitar Presets: Captured using a complementary blend of a Sennheiser e906 and a Shure SM57. Bass Presets: Captured replacing the SM57 with a Shure Beta 52A alongside the Sennheiser e906 to deliver tight low-end weight, punch, and clarity. 🎛️ CALIBRATION & HARDWARE ROUTING As with all my NAM releases, levels and signal paths were rigorously standardized: Signal Chain: MOTU M4 ➔ Radial X-Amp ➔ Roland JC-120 (Input High) ➔ Studio Mics (e906 + SM57 / Beta 52A) ➔ MOTU M4 Inputs. Amp Settings: Master Volume dialed to 4 for the sweet spot between signal-to-noise ratio and clean power headroom.
