Description

Foreword A while ago, a friend of mine, a sound engineer who has spent his entire life working with analog gear, introduced me to this unit. He recalled how, at the beginning of his journey, when he had a small studio, this compressor, despite its simplicity, handled all tasks beautifully. Recently, I was looking through the equipment shelves in our building and found it. Of course, I couldn't resist the opportunity to sample this compressor. After playing with it on different tones — guitar, drums, piano, vocals, and bass — I found several recipes for achieving a specific sonic character of compression. For each preset, the Threshold was adjusted individually to capture the character of this compressor in its most pristine form. This unit is a dynamic processor consisting of two blocks: expander/gate and compressor. In this collection, you will find everything related to the compression block, as combining it with the gate in presets is a bad idea. We decided to put the gate in a separate collection, which you will also find in my profile. All presets below are arranged in ascending order of dynamic impact on the signal — from the weakest to the strongest. In each preset, besides its name, you will find the following markings: A (Attack), R (Release), R (Ratio), and soft/hard. --- Preset List 1. Transparent — A11 R11 R3 soft 2. Smooth — A3 R3 R2 soft 3. Vintage — A11 R1 R3 soft 4. Velvet — A6 R6 R4 soft 5. Vocal — A4 R4 R4 soft 6. Glue — A5 R7 R2 hard 7. Mild — A1 R11 R4 hard 8. Snap — A4 R8 R4 hard 9. Punchy — A8 R8 R6 hard 10. Thick — A6 R4 R10 hard 11. Crunch — A1 R1 R8 hard 12. Heavy — A4 R5 R30 hard All signals are normalized. Enjoy this collection! I hope it brings you as much pleasure as it brought me.
