Description

I have shared captures of the Model 145 signal tracer from the Electronic Instrument Company (EICO). It is a simple tube amp with 4” test speaker meant for electronics troubleshooting. My single coil guitars are mostly clean through this amp. With hum buckers, I am able to drive the amp's input more. The EICO 145 has more drive than the Heathkit T-3 that I also uploaded. The signal tracer has most of its original parts. I took out the death cap and wired it for a 3-prong power plug. The following tubes are in this 145: Sylvania 6X5, Ken-Rad 6K6, Tung Sol 12SK7 There is a single Volume control to adjust loudness. I got into signal tracers when I read about how the circuitry principles were similar to those found in Tweed Champs. Amp Captures are denoted by the DI prefix. I incrementally captured the Volume from 50 to 100. Add an IR after these captures. I’ve uploaded IRs of the 145’s test speaker. However, I recommend trying IRs of larger speakers. I connected my reamp box to the input of the EICO 145 for one the “A” chain. The 145 does not have a resistor to set input impedance. The input signal basically gets passed to the volume pot. I captured a “B” chain in which I used a Wampler Tumnus Deluxe for its Klon-like buffer, and an Ebtech Hum Eliminator to try to reduce EMI. These captures are labeled with a BUF-ISO suffix. The Standard files should load in NAM hardware loaders. Input/output calibration metadata for 11.5dBu send/11.7dBu return provided.
