Description

I made Full Rig captures of my Peavey 6505 1992 Original’s Lead Channel into a Mesa Traditional 4x12 with V30s. I also used a Boss SD-1 pedal to boost the amp. Six tone settings are provided in the following order: Pre-Gain - Bass - Mid - Treble - Post-Gain - Resonance - Presence 1 - Pr-4 B-5 M-2 T-6 Po-1 R-6 P-7 2 - Pr-4 B-5 M-4 T-6.5 Po-1 R-6.5 P-7.5 3 - Pr-4 B-5 M-5 T-6 Po-1 R-7 P-7.5 4 - Pr-4 B-6 M-4 T-7 Po-1 R-7 P-8 5 - Pr-4 B-6 M-6 T-6 Po-1 R-6 P-8 6 - Pr-4 B-7 M-3 T-7 Po-1 R-5 P-8 The main pack is comprised of A2 captures. I have included A1 captures for those with the Hotone/Sonicake/Valeton devices. The A1 versions are available for the unboosted settings, which I worked on before the move to A2. These Full Rigs were recorded simultaneously with my Amp Head captures (see Linked Tones). I was trying to impart the Mesa 4x12’s impedance curve onto the captures of the 6505. It made sense to throw a mic onto the cabinet. Speaker Positions are LL – lower left, LR – lower right, UL – upper left, UR – upper right The UL and LL speakers are a bit more scooped than the UR and LR speakers, with more bite on the high end. The SM57 mic positions are as follows: a - 0.50" (~1.3cm) from the cap center, on the grille b - 0.75” (~1.9cm) from the cap center, 0.50" (~1.3cm) off the grille c - 1.00” (~2.5cm) from the cap center, 1.00” (~2.5cm) off the grille A2 Files -Generally, the ‘a’ and ‘b’ mic positions are available. -The ‘c’ position is only available for the UL and UR speakers, unboosted. -The SD-1 boosted captures of the UR and LR speakers are only available in the ‘a’ position. A1 Files -Generally, the ‘a’ and ‘b’ mic positions are available. -The ‘c’ position is only available for the UL and UR speakers. A mix of the TTSV10 file and the shortened TTSV11 file were used, depending on when I trained the captures. Both input files are from The Tone Scientist, a contributor to the NAM community. https://shop.thetonescientist.com/ For Sonicake Pocket Master (and possibly Valeton/Hotone) users, I recommend setting the global input trim to -2dB. Add a Bass EQ block, and take the 50Hz and 120Hz down to -10. These tweaks get me closest to the intended sound when I use the NAM plugin. Input/output calibration metadata for 11.5dBu send/11.7dBu return was filled in during TONE3000 training.
